Your friend Snowball here from Secret Life Of Pets. What’s the KEY to SNOWSPORTS 4 KIDS?
It’s SHARING Your Responsibility Code WITH EVERYONE and MAKING IT FUN!
I’ve already talked about how Your Responsibility Code assists ski patrol and ski & board instructors as they care for your kids in the snowy outdoors.
BUT did you see my other list:
families having fun on vacation
schools & teachers learning new skills on and off the ski slopes.
guides all skiers and snowboarders on how to use their equipment correctly
assists other professionals facilitating outdoor risk management training for ski & board instructors
Families On Vacation
You’re packing up your family for your next ski or snowboard vacation. In goes the equipment, the food, the helmets, the favorite toys. You make the trip in an airplane and a car. You follow the rules of the air and the road to get to your fun family vacation. But what about the rules of the slope? Who’s going to keep your family safe when you go your separate fun ways to sliding, lessons, snack shacks, adventuring with friends?..
Your Responsibility Code will! Don’t leave home without it 💪🏻
Schools & Teachers Taking Field Trips
From infancy, every interaction your students have with the world results in learning. So, you take them on a field trip to your nearest home mountain for some ski and snowboard lessons. These lessons are no different than the ones you perform in the classroom. If everyone listens and follows directions, then the entire classroom benefits in their lesson on snow. Your students will soon be navigating around their new home mountain with limited chaperones.

Skiers & Snowboarders Using Equipment
There’s a lot to be said about the phrase, “If you don’t know, just ask.” Many an injury has been avoided by just asking. Your Responsibility Code reminds us that we need to learn how to use our chairlifts safely. Chairlifts and the speed of chairlifts can vary greatly from mountain to mountain. Don’t assume that you can quickly and comfortably just hop on. Take some time to observe how others are loading. Ask the Lifty that is operating your chair. Point out to your child the specifics on how to load a chairlift.
Professionals Training Ski & Snowboard Instructors
Did you know that there are hire up professionals that train your local ski and snowboard instructors? Unlike other athletic coaches, ski and snowboard coaches get trained by certified professionals. In other words, they go to school on snow and even take on snow tests and paper tests. Your Responsibility Code is a huge part of the coaches testing and they can’t pass their testing without know it!
